Meet Elizabeth Amabile
Elizabeth Amabile is a dedicated educator with over twenty years of experience across public and private schools, as well as in private practice. She holds a K–12 Special Education Generalist license and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Elizabeth's deep-rooted passion lies in helping students thrive. Her guiding philosophy is "Go slow to go fast." By taking the time to build strong relationships and inner resources from the start, she sets students up for deeper, more meaningful learning over time.
Professional Expertise
Elizabeth’s professional training includes several evidence-based literacy programs and interventions, such as the Wilson Reading System and Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator and Associate Level training. Committed to continuous learning, she regularly pursues professional development in:
Literacy instruction
Executive functioning
Social-emotional learning
This ensures she brings the most up to date and effective strategies to her students.
As a Certified Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Facilitator, Elizabeth thoughtfully integrates SEL practices into her instruction. This helps students build self-awareness, develop self-regulation skills, and cultivate a growth mindset. Her approach is highly individualized, centering on understanding how each student learns best. For Elizabeth, one of the greatest joys of teaching is witnessing the transformation that occurs when students grow in confidence and begin to see themselves as capable, empowered learners.
Beyond the Classroom
Elizabeth lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband and child, and their beloved fur babies—Patches the dog and Benji the cat. Outside of teaching, she enjoys reading, journaling, hiking, skiing, and spending time with family and friends.
